Gamblezen
Gamblezen is a personal movie watchlist and rating log that keeps track of the films you want to see and what you thought of the ones you did. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
Gamblezen does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. The app has no servers, makes no network requests, and everything you enter stays on your device.
Information we collect
None. Gamblezen has no account system, no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other identifier, and we have no servers that could receive them. The display name you choose inside the app is stored only on your device and is never sent anywhere.
Data stored on your device
To make the app work, Gamblezen stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:
- Your film library — the movies you add, including title, year, genre, director, runtime and synopsis, and whether each is on your watchlist or marked as watched.
- Your ratings and notes — the one-to-five-star rating, private notes, tags and watch date you attach to a film.
- Your profile — the display name and avatar you choose.
- Your preferences — app settings such as default sort order, starting tab, whether synopses are shown, and whether deletions ask for confirmation.
- Your progress — which milestone badges you have unlocked and whether you have completed onboarding.
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to Gamblezen or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.
Permissions
Gamblezen requests no runtime permissions — it does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos. The Android app declares the standard INTERNET permission, which is included by default in Flutter projects; Gamblezen does not use it, and the app makes no network requests. No permission prompts appear at any point.
Network use
Gamblezen is fully offline. It contacts no servers, no APIs and no endpoints of any kind — not on launch, not while you use it, and not in the background. It works identically in airplane mode. The only time another app is involved is if you tap "Share Gamblezen", which hands a short piece of text to your device's own share sheet so you can pass it to an app of your choosing; that action sends nothing to us, and nothing at all happens unless you tap it.
Third-party services
None. Gamblezen integrates no analytics, no advertising networks, no crash reporting, no attribution SDKs and no in-app purchase or billing libraries. There are no third parties that could receive your data, because nothing is transmitted off your device.
Children's privacy
Gamblezen is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the app collects no data whatsoever and transmits nothing off the device, there is no personal information from a child — or from any user — for us to receive, store or disclose. It contains no ads and no in-app purchases.
Your rights
Because your data never leaves your device, you already have full and direct control over it. You can view and edit any entry in the app, and delete individual films at any time. To erase everything at once, uninstall the app or clear its storage from your device settings — that permanently removes your library, ratings, notes, profile and preferences. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to access, export or delete on your behalf.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
