Privacy Policy — 5Gringos

Last updated: 2026-08-03

5Gringos is an offline photo organiser: you import photos from your own device, then tag, caption, rate and browse them on a masonry wall or a date timeline.

The short version

5Gringos does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. The app has no account system, no analytics, and no network code of any kind — it cannot send your photos or anything else off your device, because it never connects to a network at all.

Information we collect

None. There is no sign-up, no login, no profile server, and no telemetry. The display name and avatar you can set on the Profile screen are stored only on this device and are never sent anywhere.

Data stored on your device

Everything 5Gringos knows lives in private app storage on your device:

None of this is backed by a server. There is no cloud copy.

Permissions

Network use

5Gringos is fully offline. It contains no HTTP client, no sockets, no sync service, and no remote configuration. Every feature works in airplane mode, and there are no endpoints for it to contact.

Third-party services

No third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting services are integrated. No SDK in this app collects data about you.

For completeness, the app uses these open-source software components purely as on-device libraries — none of them transmit your data: sqflite (local database), shared_preferences (local settings), image_picker (opens the system photo picker), fl_chart (draws the local statistics chart), share_plus (opens the system share sheet), and google_fonts (uses the font bundled with the app).

One thing worth being explicit about: the Share button on the Profile screen opens your operating system's standard share sheet with a short line of text about your own library totals. Nothing is shared until you pick a destination app yourself, no photos are attached, and whatever you send then becomes subject to the privacy policy of the app you chose.

Children's privacy

5Gringos collects nothing from anyone, of any age, so it collects nothing from children. Because there is no data collection, no transmission, no advertising, and no social features, the app raises none of the concerns COPPA and GDPR-K are designed to address. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — or from any user — because the app has no mechanism to do so.

Your rights and control over your data

Your data never leaves your device, so you already hold all of it.

There is no server-side copy for us to return, correct, or erase on your behalf, because one never existed.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above changes with it. Because the app ships no remote configuration, any change to how 5Gringos handles data would arrive as an app update you choose to install.
